Role Overview:

KBSS is seeking a dynamic and experienced IRATA Rope Access Manager to join our team. As the IRATA Rope Access Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful implementation of standardised procedures and protocols that align with IRATA International Code of Practice (ICOP) requirements. You will lead a team of skilled rope access technicians, overseeing their onboarding, certification, and adherence to safety protocols while maintaining the highest standards of quality and professionalism.

Please note, this position is a local opportunity, based in Karratha. Fly-in-fly-out applications will not be considered at this time.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage a team of IRATA-certified rope access technicians, ensuring compliance with safety standards, company policies, and IRATA regulations.

  • Develop and implement standardised procedures and protocols for rope access operations, ensuring alignment with IRATA requirements and best practices.
  • Plan and coordinate rope access activities, including equipment inspections, rigging setups, and work procedures, to maximise efficiency and minimise downtime.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop comprehensive safety plans for each project, identifying and mitigating potential hazards to ensure a safe working environment for all personnel.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to rope access technicians, troubleshooting issues and implementing best practices to optimise performance and productivity.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to understand project requirements and deliver tailored rope access solutions that meet or exceed expectations.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment inventory, inspections, and maintenance activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve rope access procedures, equipment, and training programs to enhance safety, efficiency, and quality outcomes.

Key Requirements:

  • IRATA Level 3 certification with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in rope access operations, preferably in the mining or Oil & Gas Sectors.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and mentor a diverse team of rope access technicians, fostering a culture of safety, collaboration, and excellence.
  • Strong technical proficiency in rope access techniques, rigging methods, and rescue procedures, with a keen attention to detail and a commitment to upholding industry best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with clients, project stakeholders, and team members to achieve project objectives.
  • Sound knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations and demonstrated experience in developing and implementing safety management systems.
  • Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel to project sites across the Pilbara region, as required.
