About the role:


As our Project Manager for Track Maintenance, you'll be responsible for the direct supervision of a large team of field staff, demonstrating leadership by building both individual and team capability.

Your main focus will be to drive high performing Track Maintenance activities, ensuring that works are delivered effectively, efficiently and safely at all times.

To lead your team to success, you'll need to be personable and experienced in at people management, using your rail industry experience to advise and support our internal and external stakeholders.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with confidence in planning and project management to join a great team at a multi-award-winning organisation.

This position will be a blend of site and officer work, based out of our Caulfield Depot.

Responsibilities include:

  • Plan, coordinate and ensure track maintenance and renewal tasks are compliant to our policies, and that they are completed in a safe, efficient and costeffective manner.
  • Manage all track works considering life cycle of assets, identifying innovative engineering solutions to support inspection, maintenance, repair and renewal activities.
  • Manage the delivery of Track maintenance, ensuring compliance to the approved budget and make the appropriate interventions where necessary.
  • Analyse, review, and prioritise track inspection, EV120 and IFC fault work orders.
  • Develop a program of fault rectification works based on track inspections, IEV100 data and IFC fault reports.
  • Liaise with a wide range of stakeholders to ensure works are completed safely and to schedule.
  • Lead, coach, and develop staff to build capability, driving performance by demonstrating Metro's values.
  • Carry out onsite management activities when & where required.

About you:

  • Minimum 5 years in Track Infrastructure/Operations/Projects.
  • Bachelor of Engineering (or equivalent relevant qualification) desirable.
  • Full and current driver's license.
  • Planning and management skills, including complex sites and managing multiple teams concurrently.
  • Previous people management experience, and an excellent communicator at all levels.
  • Computer literacy: able to utilise MS Word, Excel, Projects & Teams, Ellipse.
  • Able to find solutions to improve processes to increase productivity.
  • Confident adhering to OH&S and environmental procedures in the rail industry.
