The Opportunity:

Join the Project Banksia team constructing our Influenza cell-culture (FCC) manufacturing facility in Tullamarine (Melbourne, Australia).

Expected to be completed in 2026, this facility will be the only cell-based influenza vaccine manufacturing facility in the Southern Hemisphere and will also produce allow us to deliver unique products important to Australia's public health needs such as snake and spider antivenoms.


As we transition from the project phase to operations we have a position available for an Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Maintenance Lead to ensure the operational readiness of all electrical and instrumentation systems.


The Role:

Reporting to the Operational Engineering Lead, you will manage an internal trades team and external contractors including:

  • Work with the Project Engineering group and Maintenance to set up maintenance procedures
  • Understand technical solutions that are available and logístically manage the process of setting up, optimising and embedding E&I equipment
  • Manage the deployment of your E&I resources to meet project deliverables to budget and timeline targets, major part of this will cover initial calibrations for the GMP instruments
  • Plan, schedule, allocate and oversee the instrumentation work carried out by your team
  • Develop the configuration and calibration of instruments and systems for a successful transfer to operational maintenance within our SAP Plant Maintenance system
  • Manage the transition of services from the projects group to ongoing maintenance support
  • Prepare job packs, including isolation procedures on P&IDs for calibration and maintenance works

Your skills and experience:

  • A Degree in Engineering (preferably Electrical). An additional trades background is desirable
  • Functional knowledge of cGMPs and manufacturing operations in FDA regulated facility would be an advantage
  • Experience with SAP plant maintenance, particularly concerning calibration of instruments
  • High regard for safety and safe working practices, with the ability to lead a team through maintenance tasks safely
  • Experience in meeting project timelines, controlling the project phase and project commissioning exposure
  • Exposure to a wide range of equipment i.e. Temperature, pressure, flow, UV, conductivity or related instrumentation
