The ACIS mental health clinician operates from a newly developed community mental health hub at Atherton Road, Oakleigh, in the centre of Oakleigh and adjacent to rail and bus services.

At this location you will be colocated with other Monash Health community mental health teams. This function was (formally known as CATTCrisis Assessment Treatment Team). The Middle South team provides acute mental health services across the bayside/ South East suburbs of Melbourne.

About the role:

The role requires staff to work a rotating roster of morning, afternoon/evening shifts including weekend work.

You will work within a multidisciplinary team, predominately in an outreach capacity, however you may provide onsite/office based assessments and reviews where deemed appropriate.

You will also work in accordance with the core service demands and KPIs.

2 ACIS provides comprehensive assessment and delivers evidence-based treatment and onward referral to consumers experiencing acute mental health issues across the life span.


ACIS is at the 'front end' of service delivery with the priority to help the consumer remain in or return to their local community as quickly as possible.

Interventions are recovery orientated and tailored to individual consumer and family needs.

What you need:

  • Occupational Therapy Grade 2, Year 1
  • Registered Psychiatric Nurse, Grad 3 Year 1
  • Social Work Grade 2, Year 1
  • Australian working rights
  • Current AHPRA registration
  • You must have relevant professional registration
  • A valid Working with Children Check
  • A valid Victorian Drivers Licence is essential
  • Post graduate experience in mental health
  • Post Graduate Qualification in Mental Health is preferred
  • COVID 19 and other relevant vaccinations
