About the Compliance Analyst position:

This role offers dynamic challenges in the energy industry's current landscape. You will play a key role in nurturing a culture of compliance within the company, contributing to its success.

As part of the Regulatory team, you will be involved in ensuring economic compliance and regulatory policy adherence. Your responsibilities include collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, like the Australia Energy Regulator (AER) and the Essential Services Commission (ESC), offering strategic advice, and overseeing rigorous audit processes to meet compliance standards.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide analysis and counsel on compliance, economic, and regulatory matters.
  • Support in managing compliance issues internally or with regulatory bodies.
  • Prepare and assess questionnaires to evaluate compliance against regulatory obligations.
  • Maintain breach registers and aid in remediation activities for identified non-compliances.
  • Offer analysis and assistance in responding to regulator queries, complaints, and reporting duties.
  • Conduct internal reviews of regulatory obligations as necessary.
  • Lead meetings with stakeholders to ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines.
  • Coordinate external audits and ensure timely submission of compliance reports.
  • Deliver compliance education programs to facilitate understanding across the organization.

Qualifications for success:

  • Passion for energy and enhancing customer experience in the transitional phase.
  • Understanding of regulatory frameworks and obligations governing business conduct.
  • Prior experience in compliance, audit, or regulatory roles highly preferred.
  • Degree in business, economics, law, or engineering.
  • Strong attention to detail and familiarity with legal matters.
  • Familiarity with compliance reporting for economic regulators like AER and ESC beneficial.
