We have a team of more than 2,000 people who work year-round to deliver results. While our core laboratory is in North Ryde, we have around 20 laboratories across NSW and the ACT - many based in hospitals - to ensure we can get results back to doctors as soon as possible. We also have more than 600 collection centres for patients to visit at their convenience. In addition to this, we provide several Workplace Health & Safety testing for commercial clients.


We are currently seeking one
Part time (45 Hrs/Fortnight)
Scientific/Technical Officer to join our friendly team based in the Barrack Heights Laboratory.

This part time position is expected to work weekdays and Saturdays. Extra hours may be available to fill in annual leave and sick leave.


Reporting to the
Laboratory Manager, this multi-faceted role will involve the accurate and efficient testing of specimens, provision of quality assurance and operation of instrumentation, as well as other ad-hoc duties as required.


To be successful in this role you must have the following:

  • A relevant Science degree or Diploma obtained from or recognised by an Australian institution/AIMS.
  • Previous experience in Biochemistry, Haematology and/or Veterinary science disciplines is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of Quality Systems and NATA, ISO and NPAAC requirements desirable.
  • Demonstrate initiative and willingness to grow and learn.
  • Demonstrate sound technical skills and proficiency in computer use.
  • Possess the ability to work effectively within a team environment or alone.
  • Attentive to detail and excellent time management skills.
  • Exhibit an understanding of WHS and have an ability to promote a safe working environment.
  • Must be friendly and customer focused.
