About the role


Reporting into the Head of Business Reporting and Analytics you will establish and support the data governance framework with Pacific National.

You will ensure the establishment and implementation of Pacific National's Data Governance Framework and relevant maintenance.

Provide guidance to the business on data governance best practice and foster a culture of accountability across the business to maintain the enterprises data assets.


Key responsibilities will include:

  • Establish and implement a robust data governance framework for the business
  • Develop and implement data policies, standards, and procedures
  • Lead and champion data governance practices
  • Develop and maintain data dictionaries, data lineage, and other documentation to support data governance and data management practices
  • Lead data related projects, initiatives and change management efforts with respect to data governance across the business
  • Understand stakeholders' critical data, business procedures and data flow and controls
  • Develop training packages for business collaboration and understanding on data governance framework and outcomes
  • Conduct training workshops and work closely with Learning & Development to create data governance collateral for employees

Who are we looking for?
Ideally you will have a tertiary degree in Information/Data Management, Information Science, Business Administration, Law, or a relevant discipline.

This is a newly created role within Pacific National and we are looking for an experienced Data Governance professional with a growth mindset to make this role their own.


  • 5 plus years' experience in data governance embedding standards and practices within medium to large organisations.
  • Experience within the transport, logistics, engineering, or utilities industries would be highly regarded
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with crossfunctional teams
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced and dynamic environment, with a focus on delivering high quality results in a timely manner
  • High energy individual with a growth mindset
