Your new role
In this highly rewarding role, the

Development Executive is responsible for managing and securing bequests for the University through supporting our generous community who have pledged a gift in their Will and will steward these relationships as they eventuate.


The incumbent will focus on cultivating major gifts through building strong and mutually beneficial relationships and fostering an understanding of where the interests of donors and the University intersect for the benefit of students, research and the wider community in Western Australia and beyond.

The Development Executive will craft sophisticated funding proposals with clever value propositions that focus on university wide funding opportunities and scholarships.


This position will also coordinate and deliver events to increase engagement with current and potential bequest partners, whilst also seeking opportunities to be involved with relevant activities within Advancement and the broader University.

You will also have the opportunity to support the Advancement team with a variety of exciting responsibilities as we all pitch in to help where needed.

You will be a key driver in supporting their legacy and ensuring their efforts are valued and appreciated by many beneficiaries at Curtin University.


We are looking for someone with:

  • Personal passion to truly make a difference, who is driven through building and nurturing strong relationships and fostering an inclusive, warm, and welcoming environment.
  • A proactive mindset and the ability to identify and seek out opportunities that will align with the strategic vision and will support the success of target achievement.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and oral communication skills to liaise effectively with and influence a wide range of people at all levels both within and external to Curtin and an ability to build trusted and lasting industry partnerships and networks.
  • High level written and presentation skills with demonstrated experience in developing clear, concise, and professional proposals, reports, and other communication pieces.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively and effectively within a large multifunctional team environment.
  • Strong experience in fundraising, sales and/or business development, who is keen to support the transformative mission of higher education.
