About Customer Strategy and Technology at TfNSW
The Customer Strategy and Technology division (CST), leads the development of long-term, multi-modal strategies, plans and policies across NSW. We leverage data and insights, implement new technologies, drive innovation and build partnerships to provide customer-centred solutions.

The opportunity


You will need a strong customer focus, a keen eye for detail, and to help the branch team to find efficiencies.

You will gather data and provide analysis and this will inform annual budgets, financial plans and forecasts aligned to the strategic plans and outcomes of Transport for NSW.


This role is best suited to someone who is self driven, shows initiative, is an excellent comunicator, both in writing and verbally, has advanced financial analysis and reporting skills, is resiliant and perseveres when faced with obstacles, is comfortable in a dynamic, high volume environment.

Your role will include

  • Carry out analysis and gather data to provide input to the development of annual budgets, financial plans and forecasts which are aligned to strategic plans and objectives
  • Monitor and report on financial assets to provide information for the preparation of financial analysis and reporting.
  • Establish and maintain systems to facilitate the overall management of invoices.
  • Receive, log and process invoices to facilitate payment in line with payment conditions.
  • Perform invoice reconciliations and reconcile these with records in service management systems to ensure the integrity of the information.
  • Collect, analyse and prepare data to support modelling and analysis.
  • Analyse processes and tools to make recommendations which contribute to the continual improvement of financial decisionmaking
  • Communicate both verbally and in writing with senior leaders from across the branch on the state of their finances and strategies to keep to budget.
  • Update modelling user guides and supporting assumptions to provide up to date information for users

About you
To be successful in the role

  • You have tertiary qualifications in business, finance, commerce or similar discipline.
  • Experience in financial planning, forecasting, monitoring and reporting in a complex financial environment, including a proven track record in implementing change management programs.
  • Have experience in financial analysis professional with proven ability to effectively manage and analyse complex financial data in a challenging high volume customer service environment
  • A solid demonstrated understanding of invoice management, reporting are an essential. Exposure to the Salesforce environment would be highly regarded
  • Demonstrated experience in use of ERP/ accounting systems
  • You are an excellent communicator and can collaboratewith a diverse range of stakeholders both internally within the branch and across Transport.

Salary and Benefits
The salary for this position is TfNSW Grade 7 ($108, $121, per annum plus superannuation and leave loading.
