Your Role
This is a terrific opportunity for an Environment and Planning Associate (PQE 3-4) to join us.

Your varied role will predominately involve front end advisory work on environmental and planning matters, including current major projects and transactions in the State.

As a member of our national Infrastructure, Construction and Property Line of Business (ICP), you will be working for the firm's major clients in both the public and private sector and will be exposed to a variety of work, including:

  • general advice on the interpretation of environment and planning legislation and public law
- strategic advice for complex infrastructure projects, energy and resource projects, waste and extractive industry projects and major urban developments
- advising on project approval requirements and processes
- advising on resolving contamination and pollution issues and the apportionment of risk in commercial transactions
- environmental compliance matters
- running litigation in the Land and Environment Court (primarily classes 1, 3, 4 and 5)
- due diligence for various transactions and
- land acquisition matters.

Experience in Native Title and Aboriginal heritage will be highly regarded but not essential.


You will have significant contact with the broader ICP line of business and other lines of business within the firm, as the environment & planning team is regularly called upon to provide specialist and strategic advice on complex matters across various sectors.
