That means job opportunities in metropolitan and regional areas right across NSW - you have the chance to be part of creating a lasting legacy that will benefit generations to come

About Cities and Active Transport

The Cities and Active Transport Division ensures our cities and neighbourhoods are integrated with transport and we make our streets and public places functional, beautiful, inclusive, and inviting for all to enjoy.

We do this through creating alignment across government on strategic outcomes and a focus on excellence in placemaking and great community outcomes.

The Urban Policy branch is being established to lead the development, implementation and evaluation of technical urban policies in the CAT Division, with a particular focus on urban governance, place theory and neighbourhood policy.

There has been a change in attitude towards our neighbourhoods and urban policy in recent years, particularly since the Covid-19.

The branch responds to these changes by supporting the development and implementation of urban policy, at a range of scales and geographies.
