Join Suncorp as Lending Officer (Self Employed) and take the lead in evaluating and assessing risk for Home Lending Applications submitted by Mortgage Brokers and Direct customers.

In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for making critical decisions by evaluating applications in alignment with the Bank's risk appetite and organisational policies. This position is specifically focused on assessing more complex deals, with a particular emphasis on self-employed applications, providing an additional layer of challenge and excitement to your daily responsibilities.

By actively contributing to the achievement of Home Lending Assessment service levels and meeting agreed-upon targets with the Team Leader, you will have a significant impact on shaping the future of lending at Suncorp. What you'll do:

  • Provide exceptional customer service to both internal and external stakeholders, handling complex lending applications with a focus on self-employed individuals.
  • Consistently meet daily targets by effectively planning your workday with guidance from your leader. Embrace process changes and uphold responsible lending practices for optimal efficiency.
  • Maintain a high level of compliance with the Credit Review benchmark of 95%, as set by the Bank's Risk department.
  • Ensure accuracy in data entry to minimize rework and reduce error rates, striving for flawless execution on the first attempt.
  • Enhance the risk culture by actively participating in risk-related activities such as Computer Based Training, Data Quality initiatives, and incident logging.
  • Inspire team members through a culture of continuous learning and development, promoting diversity, inclusivity, and prioritizing the well-being of individuals.
  • Contribute positively to departmental activities and events.
  • Foster collaborative partnerships and share resources to drive innovative solutions and deliver exceptional results for our customers and the Bank.

What you'll bring:

  • Ideally a minimum of 12 months in Banking or Lending experience
  • Proven Customer Service skills – either Face to Face or Call Centre.
  • Thrives in high-pressure environments with tight deadlines.
  • Exceptional planning and prioritization skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated commitment to customer satisfaction.
  • Takes ownership and proactively finds solutions.
  • Proficient in credit analysis and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Builds strong partnerships and collaborates effectively in a team setting to achieve common objectives.
  • Final year finance students would be considered.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
