About the Company
Davidson Technology are currently supporting a large Government who are responsible for the administration of justice, support to Queensland courts, regulatory policy and consumer protection, legal aid, youth justice, corrective services and other community and legal services.
We are seeking to appoint an IT Procurement officer (AO7) to join on an initial contract till March 2024About the Role
In this role, you will be a part of the digitisation program which will see you working closely with different project teams and engage with stakeholders to develop procurement strategies that meet the business needs and the supply market.
Some duties and responsibilities include:
- Developing a Significant Procurement Plan for the Program, with a view to developing additional Significant Procurement Plans as the Program progresses.
- Undertake and manage strategic sourcing activities relevant to the procurement for high value, high risk and/or complex categories/commodities.
Sourcing activities include but are not limited to:
- Development of procurement strategies and methods including Expression of Interest, Request for Information, and Invitation to Offer which maximise benefits for the department.
- Execute highly objective supplier selection and negotiation processes ensuring that all key stakeholders are involved in the determination of requirements, specifications, selection criteria; review of proposal; negotiations; and final decisions which support the operational needs of key users and stakeholders.
- Exercise a Procurement Delegation for sourcing activities certifying that the procurement process undertaken has been in accordance with departmental policies and procedures as well as wholeofgovernment policies [e.g., Queensland Procurement Policy (QPP), Queensland Indigenous Procurement Policy (QIPP)].
- Provide highlevel expert advice in relation to procurement practices to clients and customers at Senior Management level.
- Develop evaluation plans that incorporate both price and nonprice components.
- Develop contract management plans in accordance with the government's Contract Management Framework.
- Identify, mitigate, and escalate procurement risks to ensure the program meets it obligations and maximises outcomes.
- Effectively manage contract formation and administration services and monitor performance through robust contract frameworks, successfully delivering contractual obligations.
- Perform other essential duties and tasks specific to the position as required.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrate:
- A minimum of 5 years demonstrated recent experience in undertaking and managing procurement activities.
- Procurement Certification at Level 3 minimum will be highly regarded.
- Experience in preparing and negotiating QITC contracts.
