DT Infrastructure have been announced as the preferred applicant to deliver the
Queensland Train Manufacturing Program (QTMP), the largest investment in new rollingstock in Queensland history.

As part of this program our Northern Infrastructure Projects team will deliver the Design, Construction and Commissioning of a maintenance facility and stabling yards at
Ormeau, in the Gold Coast region.


About the Roles:

We're seeking Design Managers with
Depot & Buildings experience to be part of our team.

You will be responsible for managing all elements of engineering design associated with projects in the buildings space including the design consultants with an accountability of achieving integration of the design and construction whilst driving value for money outcomes.


The role is responsible for ensuring that effective systems are implemented and utilised which deliver defined business objectives whilst ensuring overall compliance to regulatory and customer requirements.


Key responsibilities:

  • Develop strategic alliances with clients, returned works owners, subconsultants, architects, urban designers, suppliers, and subcontractors.
  • Develops new approaches, methods, or technologies.
  • Recognises the potential benefits of change in line with value engineering and cost planning principles.
  • Manage the work performance of self and direct reports to ensure objectives and milestones are achieved.
  • Ensure team's capabilities are appropriate to achieve business goals, identify resource and skill gaps and develop strategies to bridge gaps.
  • Ensure agreed standards, formats and deliverable timeframes are maintained.

About You:

  • You must have an Engineering, or related qualifications.
  • Minimum of 12 plus years of experience post degree completion.
  • At least 5 years of experience in leading an engineering / design team.
  • Ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of our Engineering's policies, procedures, and guidelines as well as relevant legislation.
  • Leadership skills will also be key as will a passion for customer focused outcomes, driving safety, quality, and sustainability, along with the ability to demonstrate strong communication skills, and a collaborative nature. Both are key with engaging with multiple internal, external and client stakeholder groups.
  • Proven experience in technical management through all project delivery phases. Minimum 5 years.
  • Strong understanding of all aspects project delivery, including contractual structures and management.
  • Experience with endtoend delivery of large infrastructure projects including operator involvement and wholeoflife considerations through design and delivery into operations.
  • Proven leader, managing a project team within a large infrastructure project/program.
  • Demonstrated delivery of building structures and specialist equipment within the rail maintenance environment.
  • Relevant computer literacy skills in 3D CAD system experience.
