The Team
Business Banking (BB) secures and enhances the financial wellbeing of people, businesses and communities.
Business Banking (BB) offer a wide range of services and solutions to our small to medium, enterprise customers and our regional and agribusiness customers.
We also take care of our personal and institutional online trading customers.
The CCO Regulatory Change & Response team enables and ensures BB achieves its purpose and strategy by interpreting and ensuring adherence to regulatory obligations, understanding and mitigating risks through structured controls infrastructure and assurance activities, and managing risk governance and reporting frameworks.
We are accountable in facilitating and managing regulatory change, leading advocacy positions across consultations and responding to regulatory inquiries and license management obligations across the entire Business Bank.
The Manager role within the Regulatory Change & Response Team is a Line 1 role that will drive change delivery of legislative requirements, facilitate advocacy positions across regulatory consultations and support with responding to inquiries for Business Banking.
Implementation of these changes supports ensuring that Business Bank complies with various legislative and other non-financial risk requirements in a timely manner to surpass the expectations of customers, the community, regulators and internal stakeholders in relation to our business.
The role also involves significant stakeholder management to obtain information, agree ownership and consolidate views across Business Bank for various submissions in compliance with timelines.
The role allows direct access to all areas of Business Bank and a variety of project types including Group-wide programs.
Responsibilities:
- Gain an understanding of various regulatory regimes, planned regulatory changes, upcoming inquiries and consultation reviews.
- Design and deliver change program workshops, meetings, communication and deliverables. Mobilise and lead impact assessment across multiple lines of business and forming a consolidated view.
- Coordination and leadership of Business Banking contribution to regulatory notices, inquiries and engagements with regulators (ASIC, APRA, ACCC, BCCC).
- Collaborating with the business and Line 2 colleagues to determine optimal courses of action to ensure regulatory change compliance within BB.
- Ensure appropriate process and control environment is in place and effective to meet the various regulatory regimes and changes within the compliance due dates.
- Manage license management activities for the Business Bank.
- Assist in the preparation of reports as required for various governance committees and other activities under the teams' purview.
What will you need to succeed in this role?- Awareness of key legislation and regulations impacting financial services is an advantage.- Experience of delivering a major change program within a Risk environment is an advantage.- Strong background relating to controls / non-financial risk management is highly desirable.- Strong problem solving ability and a proven contributor to team success.- Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship building skills across a range of stakeholder groups and ability to facilitate discussions.
