Biosecurity Officer

Job Description

City of Parramatta have an exciting Permanent full-time opportunity working in the Regulatory Services unit as a Biosecurity Officer.

As the Biosecurity Officer you will proactively enforce the provisions of legislation used by City of Parramatta Council, adopted policies/ codes and regulations in a fair and equitable manner.

On a daily basis you will:

• Take the lead in creating an effective biosecurity weed inspection regime that will routinely involve inspections of residential properties, nursery and florist businesses within the LGA.
• Communicate with and educate business owners and residents to assist them with identifying and eliminating biosecurity weed threats.
• Competently investigate and prepare precise briefs of evidence for submission, consideration, and approval.

About You (Criteria):
The successful candidate will have previous experience in Local Government Regulatory enforcement or extensive experience in a role within the Regulatory or Law Enforcement Sector. You will have strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• Relevant qualifications in either horticulture, bushland regeneration, weed control, natural resource management or other related discipline or equivalent qualification.
• Current C Class Drivers License
• NSW boat driver license.
• Current First Aid Certificate.

We are offering an attractive remuneration from $93,458 to $102,919 plus superannuation.
