About the Opportunity

As a Payroll Technical Specialist, you will play a crucial role in delivering professional, accurate, and timely payroll services across all AsPac contracts. You'll work closely with the Payroll Change and Governance Manager to ensure compliance with Service Level Agreements, company values, Enterprise Agreements and Awards and legislative requirements. This position offers a chance to provide high-level advisory services, manage complex payroll system changes, and contribute to a culture of customer service excellence.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Overseeing the output of an efficient, effective, and comprehensive payroll service for customers and employees in accordance with SLAs and documented procedures.
  • Leading testing requirements for SAP HCM Payroll system changes driven by legislative changes, business requirements, change requests, and system upgrades.
  • Applying technical expertise and knowledge to interpret, communicate, and implement legislative updates.
  • Managing monthly or quarterly reconciliation for Superannuation payments and end of financial year reporting requirements
  • Preparing and processing complex payroll/SAP and human resource information, including reports and process documentation.

About You - Your Ideal Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in payroll processes and the use of a computerised payroll system (e.g., SAP HCM) or other relevant databases.
  • Analytical thinking skills to identify root causes, propose solutions, and implement changes until resolution.
  • Experience interpreting and applying relevant legislation, policies, and procedures associated with payroll or HR-related services.
  • Ability to work effectively as an individual or as a team member, relating to staff at all levels and building strong working relationships.
  • Strong customer service ethos with excellent communication skills, both oral and written.

Additional/Special Features of the Role

You will collaborate with various teams including the Payroll Change and Governance Manager, IT development team, WFM team, business resources, Employment Relations team, and external vendors to gather requirements and implement complex payroll system changes. You will also be required to be available for any out-of-hours payroll system and payroll issues.
