The McCabe Centre for Law & Cancer is a collaborative project involving Cancer Council Victoria, the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC), and Cancer Council Australia. Its objective is to advocate for the effective use of law in combating cancer and other noncommunicable diseases by fostering knowledge, expertise, capacity, and networks at various levels.

About the Role

We are on the lookout for a proficient Communications and Engagement Manager to join the McCabe Centre for Law & Cancer. Reporting to the McCabe Centre Director, your responsibilities include:

  • Leading the planning and implementation of the McCabe Centre's communication and engagement strategies
  • Overseeing the promotion of the McCabe Centre and its initiatives to important stakeholders and audiences through various communication channels and events
  • Developing persuasive grant funding proposals and presentations to secure and maintain financial support and partnerships
  • Assisting the McCabe Centre team in adapting complex legal materials for better understanding by target audiences, utilizing mediums such as webinars, podcasts, or other multimedia content
Your Profile

We are searching for an individual with:

  • A relevant degree or certification in communications, marketing, or a related field
  • Extensive experience in similar positions in marketing, media, or communications
  • In-depth knowledge of communication and marketing principles, strategies, and methodologies
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading capabilities
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills
  • Strong self-motivation and the ability to work independently
