TAFE NSW is looking for an industry qualified, experienced and passionate teacher of Information Technology to join the team and contribute towards the future of IT industry.


We have the following positions available:

  • 1 x Teacher of Software Development (Advanced Programming) at Petersham Campus
  • 1 x Teacher of Web Development/ Software Development (Advanced Programming) at Hornsby Campus


The role of the TAFE teacher as a professional educator is to help, construct, guide and enhance the education process.

The teacher delivers educational programs and facilitates learning, enabling students to achieve their desired outcomes

ABOUT YOU


You are passionate and motivated about sharing your extensive industry experience and skillset with students and are knowledgeable on current and upcoming trends and industry requirements in information technology.

You have the ambition and drive to succeed and mentor students, passing on your experience and knowledge, and have demonstrated experience in delivering training in an adult learning environment both face to face and through connected learning platforms.

To be considered for the role you will have:

  • Diploma (or above) in Information Technology in related discipline with practical experience in at least one of the following areas:
  • Front-End design
  • HTML, CSS, jQuery, JavaScript, frameworks such as REACT or Angular.
  • CMS (WordPress)
  • Visual Design, image editing (Adobe Creative Cloud suite).
  • Programming in
  • C#.NET, Java, Python
  • Data Visualisation
  • NoSQL Databases such as MongoDB
  • MVC framework
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116) or equivalent
  • Minimum three years post qualification experience within the last five years
  • Demonstrated commitment to maintaining professional currency

Highly Regarded

  • Industry Certifications for developers Eg: Developer Certification in Azure or AWS, MCSD
