Closing Date:31 May 2024

Do you want to use your God-given abilities, experience and passion to invest in the growth of god's kingdom?

St Alban's Anglican Church is a growing evangelical and multicultural church with many exciting opportunities to make Christ known to people of all nations in our local community.

To continue to grow God's kingdom we need to invest more in evangelising newcomers, establishing new disciples and growing leaders.

We are seeking a part-time (2-3 days a week) minister who loves seeing adults become and grow as disciples of Christ, has a passion for the mission of the local church, and a desire to equip and lead others in ministry.

As we explore your gifts, passions and experience, together we will select one or more of the key areas of evangelising newcomers, establishing new disciples and growing leaders for you to invest in.

1. Position Purpose
The role of the 'Key area Minister' is to prayerfully grow adult disciples of Jesus.

We want to see people of all nations turning to Christ, growing in their knowledge and understanding of God's word, and being equipped to serve him.

The specific purpose and title of the role will depend on the key area(s) chosen.

2. Key Responsibilities
The responsibilities will depend upon the key area(s) chosen in consultation with you, but the core elements will include:

  • Developing and implementing a plan for your key area(s) in consultation with the Senior Minister.
  • Recruiting, training, discipling and developing leaders for your key area(s).
  • Leading small group courses for your key area(s)
  • Leading and participating in Sunday morning church services
  • Actively participating in a collaborative staff team for the making of disciples across our church.
  • Ongoing attention to personal Christian growth, ministry development, and professional standards are expected and encouraged in all members of our team.

3. Qualifications

  • Evidence of a life of discipleship in following Jesus and a personal commitment to see the gospel grow.
  • 2 or more years of theological training.
  • Experience in ministry relevant to the key area(s) chosen.

This position is part-time and offered with remuneration and benefits as articulated in the Sydney Anglican Diocese Remuneration Guidelines, including provision and leave for professional development.

Suitable applicants may be interviewed before the closing date.

Position start date is June/July 2024.
