Location

Lowood is a large rural Queensland school located just north of Pine Mountain, and just 30kms from Ipswich along the Brisbane Valley Highway.

With beautiful surrounds, find yourself in nature on the many different walking, cycling and horse-riding tracks, National Parks and Reserves, midway on the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail between Ipswich and Esk.

There are picnic areas at parks and with the picturesque Savages Crossing nearby, you can experience flowing waterways all year long.

Support for Beginning Teachers

Teacher Learning Centres (TLCs) serve as a vehicle to coordinate high quality teacher professional learning practices including professional development, release time, mentoring, coaching, networking, holistic induction and support for the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers (APST).

The Metropolitan TLC has been established as a professional learning centre supporting preservice, beginning and early career teachers as they progress along the teaching continuum.

The intent for the Metropolitan TLC is to provide consistent and streamlined professional learning that empowers confident and capable teaching professionals.

We provide a variety of targeted professional learning events for beginning teachers throughout the region, including Beginning Teacher Induction Conferences and Beginning Teacher Networks.

  • Current full registration or current provisional registration with eligibility for full registration, as a teacher in Queensland.
