Qube Bulk division provides complete mine to market and mine resupply solutions offering mine, road, rail, storage, port and ship services. We handle more than 85 million tonnes per annum of various bulk ores, concentrates, mineral sands, salt, coal and dangerous goods. Qube Bulk is an industry leader in safety initiatives and innovation through advanced In-Vehicle Management Systems (IVMS), fleet monitoring, supply chain management technology and equipment performance-based standards engineering.

Primary Purpose

The purpose of the Regional Manager is to be responsible and accountable for the managing, planning and development of Qube Bulk's Mining Logistics Operations within their region to meet established Qube objectives, in particular HSE, Operational, and Financial.

Location: Brisbane

Specific Responsibilities

  • Manage the compliance of health, safety and environmental obligations and requirements
  • Manage the compliance of all customer, quality assurance and documentation and procedural requirements
  • Manage the development, implementation and execution of the Regional Business Plan
  • Provide effective leadership and development opportunities to line managers and superintendents
  • Manage the operating cost performance of the region, including the development and management of the budget and the achievement of agreed performance targets
  • Assist with future regional projects in terms of identification of the opportunity, operational design and execution plans
  • Liaise professionally with customers, regulatory authorities and suppliers to promote Qube Bulk in a positive way
  • Provision of timely and accurate data input and reporting to the General Manager on the region's operational performance and business development
  • Providing leadership and guidance to frontline leaders and operational staff best practice Willingness to travel to remote sites across Australia

Qualifications and Experience

  • Broad knowledge of the Mining Logistics, trucking / bulk haulage /port sector with an in-depth knowledge of mobile fleet and associated equipment
  • Operations management experience in logistics/transport/mining services industry
  • Track record managing a business unit of similar scale, setting and delivering a budget, leading similar size team, negotiating an employee agreement, managing an operation safely
  • Commercial and contract management
  • Budget and business P&L accountability
  • Prior Exposure to safety culture in resources/oil & gas & Logistics sectors
  • Minimum 5 years' experience managing and developing employees, ideally gained in a ports, Mining, logistics or heavy industry environment
  • Diploma in Business, Logistics or related area, equivalent or greater
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a variety of people
  • Advanced skills using Microsoft Office, Excel and Power Point
  • Ability to work autonomously using proactive approach to task resolution
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable to work in a demanding environment
  • Ability to work well within a small team environment
  • Experience managing multi-disciplined teams across a multiple sites
