The Consumer Finance Quality & Controls team supports the broader Consumer Finance Team, which consists of Personal Lending, Credit Cards and Credit Risk businesses in managing and optimising the Consumer Finance risk and control environment.


Do work that matters


Reporting to the Senior Manager Risk and Control Enablement, you will play an integral role in supporting the Consumer Finance business to effectively manage and optimise the risk and control environment.

This is achieved through providing support and advice on key elements of the Operational Risk Management Framework including control assurance and testing as well as issue and incident management.


On any given day, you will

  • Manage control assessments and testing across your allocated portfolio within Consumer Finance.
  • Evaluate controls and provide recommendations on control improvements through control assurance and testing
  • Support the management of issues and incidents including the escalation and approval of any extensions and ensuring items are progressing to closure.
  • Administer all issue, incident and control requirements to a high level of quality within our system, RiskInSite;
  • Support the manager to provide risk advice and guidance in accordance to the Operational Risk Management Framework;
  • Drive strong risk culture and awareness within Consumer Finance;
  • Assist with building and maintaining reports for issues, incidents and controls to ensure visibility across the business, at all levels of management;
  • Help prepare for key Consumer Finance and external governance activities and risk forums.

We're interested in hearing from people who have

  • Demonstrated experience in risk and control assurance ideally within retail banking and/or consumer finance
  • An understanding of Operational Risk and Compliance frameworks, particularly control development and testing
  • Critical thinking
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal) and stakeholder management / influencing.
  • Structured problemsolving and analytical ability, working through competing priorities.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
