The CMH Clinician will provide comprehensive strengths based and recovery focused assessments with consumers and the formulation of time limited packages of care signed off by consumers and their care givers.

These packages will detail the clinical mental health services and other wraparound supports to be provided.


They will provide high quality evidence based clinical services including assessment, care co-ordination, intervention, liaison and review as part of a multidisciplinary team for adults referred to the service with a mental illness or disorder.

These interventions will be based on an appropriate model of practice as specified by the individual's professional background, skills, and experience and will be informed by evidence based treatment guidelines.


  • Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified for this position following suitable labour market testing._
  • All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course of a COVID19 vaccine which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). Additionally, Category A workers are required to receive a booster dose three months after completing the primary course of COVID19 vaccinations. New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate (IM011 immunisation medical exemption form) certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID19 vaccines available in NSW._
  • Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID19 vaccinations._

Selection Criteria

  • Professional qualification in either Social Work (eligible for membership of AASW), Occupational Therapy with current registration with AHPRA, Registered Nurse with current registration with AHPRA; Psychologist with current registration with AHPRA.
  • Demonstrated experience in the mental health assessment, treatment and management of persons with a mental illness in a community setting.
  • Demonstrated commitment to a consumer focussed recoveryoriented approach and consumer collaboration in care planning
  • Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrated skills in time management
  • Computer literacy skills
  • Current NSW Driver's Licence
