Your part in Buderim Private Hospital

  • You will lead a team of After-Hours Nurse Managers in delivering service excellence and providing support for quality, improvement, staff development and risk management across all hospital departments. You'll be responsible for the movement of patients through the hospital and for ensuring safe and efficient patient care.
  • Collaborating with your peers daytoday, you will ensure the provision of a coordinated nursing service across the hospital, delivering synergies across the wards that will allow for a highly functional service that supports excellent bed management and patient flow.
  • You will:
  • Lead a team of professional clinical staff in the coordination of patient flow, ensuring efficient allocation of patients to beds in line with our bed management and access strategy.
  • Work to achieve optimal patient outcomes and exceptional patient satisfaction
  • Facilitate and manage effective communication across the hospital and with key stakeholders, including consultation with preadmission office, Clinical Nurse Managers, Clinical Liaison Nurse and VMO's.
  • Recruit to ensure adequate staffing, maintaining a flexible workforce to support patient occupancy, ensuring budget and performance indicators are managed effectively.
  • Lead the team to contribute to the hospital's strategic plan, develop actions plans and formulate policy and procedure as required.
  • Contribute to the hospital's Quality Improvement Program by recommending and overseeing improvement projects and assisting with audit activities as required.
  • Promote the importance of maintaining the dignity of the patient and patient confidentiality.
  • Respond to emergencies, as required.

With strong communication skills, you'll be confident facilitating communication within a large organisation, effectively collaborating with stakeholders to manage and negotiate outcomes.
  • Demonstrating extensive experience in a leadership role or senior role within a patient flow speciality, you'll be competent in leading a large nursing team, balancing operational priorities with a supportive and empathetic leadership style.

You'll demonstrate:

  • Bachelor of Nursing / current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
  • Outstanding leadership skills and the ability to manage and support an afterhours team.
  • Financial acumen and the demonstrated ability to manage resources within budget.
