About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Ministry Assistant You will be responsible for strengthening The Salvation Army's engagement with young people through the Bellarine Peninsula Salvation Army.

Additionally, you will create youth-centred programs and connections that respond to the needs of the local community, the development and training of volunteers and leaders, and will oversight the youth and children's ministries of the Bellarine Peninsula Salvation Army.

Responsibilities include

• Plan, coordinate and assist with the delivery of Corps programs and activities focused on youth and families in consultation with Corps Officer(s)
• Develop an effective mission focus for children and youth ministry
• Build relationships with local schools and other youth programs in the community
• Monitor programs to ensure they remain within the set budgets
• Assist in creating faith pathways through all our existing and future children's and youth programs and activities
• Encourage children and young people to live a positive and Christcentred lifestyle
• Engage in a mentoring program with experienced ministry leader

This is a fixed-term part time position 18 hours per week, based in Clifton Springs, VIC. Salary and conditions are in accordance with Hay Level 12.

You will have

• Relevant qualification in Youth and/or Children's Ministry
• Relevant experience in implementing, facilitating and evaluating youth and/or children's programs
• Actively promote Vision, Mission and Values of The Salvation Army
• A valid Employee Working with Children's Check
