As the Property Officer, you will be required to operate a range of computer software (word processing, LIMS e

g:
AUSLAB, Forensic Register) with a high level of accuracy to ensure integrity of records and reporting are maintained.

What we are looking for:

  • Ability to gain an understanding of sample handling procedures and willingness to handle various types of forensic material, including biological specimens.
  • Follow documented procedures, in accordance with relevant legislation, and in line with Workplace Health and Safety guidelines, performed to an acceptable level of accuracy as required in a forensic environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of a team without direct supervision and ability to guide the project and meet deadlines.
  • Highlevel of attention to detail.

Qualifications, registration and other requirements:

  • Whilst not mandatory, a relevant qualification would be well regarded.
  • Provision of a DNA sample may be required for use on the staff DNA elimination database to comply with accreditation requirements.
  • It is a condition of employment for this role for the employee to be, and remain, vaccinated against the vaccine preventable disease Hepatitis B. MMR, Pertussis and Varicella vaccinations are recommended.
  • It will be a mandatory condition of employment for this role for the employee to be, and remain, vaccinated against COVID19 (Health Employment Directive No. 12/21 and Queensland Health Human Resources Policy B70.This work is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 Australia License.
