About the role


We have an exciting opportunity for a Research Assistant to join our growing Clinical and Social Research Team at Turning Point, Australia's leading national addiction treatment, training and research centre.

Our Clinical and Social Research program aims to address addiction issues across the spectrum of harm, establishing effective methods for supporting clients from initial help-seeking through to specialist treatment and recovery.


You will work as part of this dynamic team of research and clinical staff undertaking a range of activities leading to the timely completion of research projects that contribute to making a real world impact.

You will work directly with researchers who will provide guidance, mentoring and training to assist them in performing their role.

About you

To be successful in this role you will possess:
Strong interest in working in addiction research, and/or previous experience working with people experiencing addiction

Research skills in participant recruitment; data collection and analysis; literature searching, analysis, and synthesis; and report writing

Ability to work in an ethical and sensitive manner with participants

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Well-developed oral and written communication skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail

Selection Criteria

Essential:
Strong interest in working in addiction research, and/or previous experience working with people experiencing addiction

Essential:
Research skills in participant recruitment; data collection and analysis; literature searching, analysis, and synthesis; and report writing

Essential:
High level of attention to detail, including accurate scheduling, data collection and record keeping

Desirable:
An Honours degree in health sciences, allied health, Psychology, Population Health or a related discipline
