DPV Health Supported Independent Living Service is a NDIS registered service providing support to people with disabilities. Residents may have physical and/ or intellectual disabilities, health conditions, specific language and communication needs and demonstrate behaviours of concern.

The Residential Support Worker provides a comprehensive support service to residents in their home which extends to the community and health planning. The position also contributes to daily operational of household tasks with the residents participating where possible.

You will aid in achieving these outcomes by:


• Assist residents in undertaking a range of activities of daily living including- medication, personal & selfcare, food preparation & mealtime assistance, dressing & maintenance of personal hygiene


• Plan, conduct and follow up resident's health appointments and maintain communication of these to team members.


• Establish and maintain effective links and positive working relationships with the residents, families, and other stakeholders


• Creating and maintaining an environment that empowers people with disabilities


• Development and implementation of resident directed care programs to deliver on the individuals' goals and outcomes


• Contribute to meal preparation in line with resident, group and DPV Health guidelines


• Transport residents using DPV Health vehicles to / from home and to outings


• Contribute and participate in monthly Care Team Meeting and supervision sessions


• Complete house routines and cleaning that ensures a safe well-presented and clean home for the residents

• Ability to drive DPV Health Buses (11-seater) or endorsed bus licence


• Experience planning, implementing and evaluating disability centred framework


• Ability to work independently in the community and respond to a changing work environment


• Demonstrated ability to problem solve, make decisions, and escalate when required


• Manage time, and ensure the efficient and effective use of resources


• Ability to write clear concise resident notes and complete reports as necessary


• Demonstrated skills in using PC, Microsoft products and experience with resident data base software

The fine print

Successful candidates will be required to undergo a National Police Check, hold a valid WWCC and NDIS Worker Screening Check and be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or provide a valid medical exemption


• Full driver's license and travel between sites is preferred


• Current Certificate for First Aid (HLTAID003) & Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (HLTAID001)


• Certificate III or IV Disability Services or other equivalent qualifications


• Food Safety and Handling Certificate


• Manual Handling, Infection Control


• Ability to actively support people with a disability in daily living and personal care skills


• Must be able to work shifts that will involve mornings, evenings and weekends
