JBS Australia's Northern Division operates five strategically-placed processing facilities as well as five feedlots across Queensland and New South Wales, with access to an extensive network of quality cattle.

Our network provides the ability to meet the specific demands of various market segments with an extensive range of grain-fed and pasture-fed products.

The JBS Beef City Feedlot is part of the integrated Beef City facility consisting of farming, feedlot and processing operations.

The cattle are walked from the feedlot to the plant, minimising stress, carbon emissions and transportation costs while simultaneously improving eating quality.

Ideally located in the prime grain and cattle producing region of the Darling Downs, 35km west of Toowoomba, the 26,500 head capacity feedlot has a strong reputation for producing high quality grain fed beef for key domestic and international customers, and employs approximately 50 team members.

There is currently a vacancy in the Livestock Team for a stockperson to assist with the care and movement of cattle from the Feedlot to the Processing Operations.

Responsibilities:

• Daily livestock handling including moving cattle from receival pens to the plant holding pens;
• Washing of cattle prior to processing, if required;
• Be able to follow documentation;
• Maintain accurate records of cattle movements;
• Ensure water troughs are cleaned twice a week and that cattle have access to water at all times;
• Follow procedures to ensure QA compliance;
• Ensure compliance with OH&S, Animal Welfare and Environmental Regulations.

Criteria:

• Must have a minimum of two suitable stock horses (Hendra Vaccinated);
• Must be a strong horseperson with sound livestock experience;
• Must be committed to animal welfare;
• Must be able to work effectively in a small team environment;
