General Services Officers – Environmental & Catering Services (Casual)

Located in the stunningly beautiful suburb of Merewether NSW, Lingard Private Hospital is perfectly located within a 20-minute commutable distance of most of the surrounding suburbs. The region's geography includes gentle rolling hills, spectacular sea views, thousands of acres of forested reserves, walking and cycling trails. Outdoor activities abound surfing, boating and windsailing – all are a way of life for this super-friendly, relaxed community. The climate is perhaps the most perfect in Australia, with warm balmy summers and mild winters, but no extreme temperatures. One or two last notes on the area: housing is far more affordable than Australia's main cities, and there are no traffic jams in this small, perfectly formed city.

Currently housing 125 beds and the largest theatre complex in the region, Lingard Private can offer your most interesting and challenging role to date: our facilities include 14 x theatres, 2 x Cath Labs and 2 x endoscopy suites; this complex and multi-faceted theatre structure is housed in two adjacent sites which include the flagship Lingard Private Hospital and the newly developed Lingard Day Procedure Centre.

About the role

Our priority is to provide excellence in customer service by continually monitoring patient experience via surveys and other feedback. We use this feedback to provide better services and care, tailored to our patients' needs and expectations.

Lingard Private Hospital is seeking a team of dedicated and enthusiastic staff to work in our hospital. We are seeking experienced Environmental Services & Catering staff to work on a casual basis. Working as part of a busy team, our Hotel Services Department has a high level of cleaning services to patients and communal areas of our hospital.

You will also provide general support to the Catering Department, including the preparation and service of well-presented and nutritious meals; compliance with the individual dietary requirements of patients and instructions of the hospital's Dietician; and the delivery of best practice customer service. You will be required to always maintain a high standard of personal hygiene, and compliance with all relevant regulations and Healthe Care policies.

  • Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination status, in line with Public Health Order for all health care workers to be fully vaccinated by 30th November 2021
  • Knowledge of chemicals and infection control
  • Basic knowledge of HACCP
  • An understanding of best practice food health and safety standards
  • Demonstrated commitment to customer service and quality improvement
  • Flexibility to work as part of a 7 day roster
  • Experience in a cleaning role
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent knowledge of infection control principles
  • Knowledge and understanding of chemical safety standards
  • Previous experience in food preparation and catering in a healthcare setting
  • Minimum of one (1) years' experience in a hospitality position
  • Certificate 2 & 3 in Hospitality and/or Dietary Practice Certificate
