What you'll do
- This is an exciting and rare opportunity for an Assistant Relationship Manager to join a major financial institution that has a dedicated development finance team.
- The role is focussed on supporting a Senior Relationship Manager with the provision of tailored lending solutions for experienced real estate developers operating in the greater Melbourne metropolitan area and the city of greater Geelong.
- It is a new portfolio that will require contribution to the execution, and monitoring of a business plan in pursuit of specific customer, people, risk, and financial outcomes.
- Key responsibilities include:
- Proactively lead and take responsibility for administration of the portfolio, anticipate customer needs and ensuring all activities are undertaken in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Attend to customer queries, ensuring they are responded to in a timely and professional manner and support improvement of the relevant customer service / customer satisfaction outcomes for the portfolio.
- Assist the Senior Relationship Manager with daytoday administration of transactions, conducting credit assessments and due diligence, managing approval processes, fostering customer and other stakeholder relationships.
- Assist the broader Development Finance team by collaborating across functions and accepting and completing assigned tasks when required.
- Engage in initiatives and opportunities to continuously build your skills, knowledge, and capability.
- Build and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders in implementing sales, service, operational, process, and credit quality initiatives, and in the identification of continuous improvement and adherence to processes and requirements.
About You
With more than 2+ years of professional experience gained in either commercial banking or a non-bank financial institution, direct equity or private credit division of an institutional real estate group, you will bring to the role:
- Direct experience administering a portfolio of finance transactions in the real estate sector, particularly for the development of residential land estates, apartments/town houses, and other commercial assets.
- Organised and effective in high pressure situations with a customer centric focus and creativity to solve problems. Works with autonomy, urgency and plans ahead to manage personal and team deadlines.
- Works well in a highly collaborative, peoplecentred environment. Builds trust and confidence within team and senior management. Enjoys and excels working on multiple priorities.
- Ability and confidence to explain concepts, convey information and influence others both written and verbally.
- Very high attention to detail.
- Tertiary qualifications in business, commerce, or property economics (highly regarded).
