Queen's Wharf Brisbane - The world-class entertainment precinct that captures the heart of Brisbane

Set for a staged opening in the second half of 2023, Queen's Wharf Brisbane will transform the CBD and river's edge into Queensland's newest entertainment and leisure destination.


Scores of restaurants, cafes and bars, the iconic Sky Deck 100 metres above the river with its 360 degree sweeping views and the open-air Leisure Deck sitting atop the podium and between all four towers will create new destinations for residents and visitors to enjoy.


The $3.6 billion Queen's Wharf Brisbane development is being delivered by Destination Brisbane Consortium - a joint venture led by The Star Entertainment Group alongside its partners.

When complete, Queen's Wharf Brisbane will deliver four new luxury hotels, more than 50 new food and beverage experiences, significant luxury retail, the restoration of nine heritage buildings and around 1,500 residential apartments.


It's a foundation on which thousands of great careers will be built and now, we are looking for an experienced
Head of Activations to join the pre-opening project team based in Brisbane.


About your new role

Reporting to the Commercial Marketing QLD, you will play a key role to drive visitation to the Queens Wharf Precinct through activations and events.


  • Manage activations strategy for the Queens Wharf precinct in conjunction with industry bodies and relevant tourism bodies, in line with precinct's overall marketing strategy
  • Develop, implement, measure and oversee calendar of events for Queens Wharf designed to drive visitation and, awareness, revenue and ROMI for targeted customers.
  • Strategic development of the Queens Wharf programme seeking engagement with key industry partners and all key areas of the business for endorsement and execution.
  • Project manage activations that relate to activation of precinct activations and partnerships, including but not limited to on
- and off-property events, promotions, hospitality and retail activation

  • Provide comprehensive updates and communications around contract, activation and planning status around all activations
  • Support the broader team in executing key Partnerships at specific times


You will also play a key role partnering with the project team, ensuring that all preopening work for the property is seamless allowing the group to open on time, on budget and achieve the business and departmental objectives ensuring operations are conducted in accordance with the highest standards.

To be successful in this role you will have

  • Tertiary qualifications in Sponsorship, Business, and/or Marketing or relevant discipline.
  • 710 years marketing or promotional experience in hospitality or related industry with proven results.
  • Prior experience in managing corporate partnerships, either as sponsor or sponsee
  • Understanding of laws as they relate to the organisation, in particular Privacy, Marketing and related laws and ability to understand regulatory legislation.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to confidently lead discussions and manage expectations and demands of stakeholders across multiple jobs.
  • Ability to define business requirements and drive decisions.
  • Excellent attention to detail, communicates clearly and in an engaging manner.
