Staff Specialist

- The Cardiologist, Advanced Heart Failure and Cardiac Transplant Unit will be responsible for the provision of high quality, cost efficient and effective care for patients who are managed by the Advanced Heart Failure and Cardiac Transplant Unit at The Prince Charles Hospital and to actively participate in education and research. There is inpatient, outpatient, telehealth care as well as procedures to be undertaken. There are patients with LVADs (left ventricular assist devices in place) there are managed as well. The Cardiologist will work as part of an extensive multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated clinical and technical expertise in the subspeciality areas of advanced heart failure, cardiac transplantation and mechanical cardiac support
- Demonstrated skills and initiative in the leadership and motivation of a multidisciplinary team as well as oral and written communication skills commensurate with this position
- Demonstrated knowledge of safety and quality assurance initiatives in the area of cardiology, particularly heart failure and transplantation and mechanical cardiac support, as well as the ability to conduct audits and data analysis of key cardiology outcome measures
- Demonstrated commitment to education and research activities in the field of cardiology, particularly heart failure, cardiac transplantation and ventricular assist devices
- A sound knowledge of contemporary Human Resource issues including time management, Workplace Health & Safety, Equal Employment Opportunity, Antidiscrimination and Code of Conduct
