About the role


As a Partnerships Executive in the Government Engagement team, your focus will be to identify and pursue strategically aligned opportunities to secure government funding, drive policy change, and build government's support for Red Cross' humanitarian work.


Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing strategic advice on funding and public sector trends and identifying opportunities to ensure the organisation is wellpositioned to meet its humanitarian priorities.
  • Project managing the development of high quality pitches, funding proposals, policy submissions and grants/tenders in collaboration with crossfunctional teams.
  • Working closely with Government Engagement and Growth Lead / Partners in the same team to codesign strategies, which aim to engage government in addressing humanitarian needs.
  • Supporting programs teams in initiating, negotiating and securing a range of sustainable funding relationships with various government departments.
  • Supporting the achievement of key financial and strategic goals across our Emergency Services and Migrant Support Programs

  • Strong strategic planning, project management, problem solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent relationship building skills with the ability to engage and work effectively with internal stakeholders as well as government decision makers
  • Demonstrated ability to drive and achieve financial targets
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, with a flexible, positive and collaborative approach
  • Welldeveloped planning, research and organisational skills
  • Ideally, demonstrated experience and/or knowledge of government/government funding, and/or experience in a corporation or NGO developing effective business development strategies with a focus on partnerships and revenue growth.
  • Ability to work within the team's methodology of engagement by developing and nurturing key relationships and partnerships that provide a pipeline of short, medium and longterm opportunities from which the organisation can source funding or influence policy.
