Uniting is seeking dedicated and respectful Disability Support Workers to join our four-bedroom home in Belfield, that offers Supported Independent Living (SIL) accommodation for young adults with a disability.


Working with participants aged 18 to 26 years on the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), you will positively engage people with various physical and mental health disabilities, contributing to making a meaningful difference by building their capacity with daily living, confidence in accessing the community and within themselves.


Our service operates in a 24/7 environment, we are looking for flexible staff to join our committed team.

Shifts times include:

6am - 4pm:

-
4pm - 10pm (followed by an inactive sleepover shift)

About You
-
NSW Drivers licence with fully insured vehicle:

  • Ability to connect and communicate with young people living with disability
  • Competent to support participants with personal care and physical support
  • Certificate III or IV in Disability, or equivalent (
    _desirable but not essential)_:
  • Clear and effective communication skills and ability to establish a professional relationship with participant and their families
  • Demonstrated understanding of personcentred care
  • Experience supporting participants from Aboriginal and Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) backgrounds would be advantageous
  • Current paid Working with Children Check and NDIS Workers Check
  • Current First Aid Certificate
  • 3 doses of the COVID19 vaccine are required
