EmpowerU is looking for passionate Male support worker across South West Sydney who are committed to the rights of people with disabilities to live dignified lives.

**Must have experience supporting people living with mental illness**

**EmpowerU** is a value-based NDIS registered organisation providing individually tailored support services to people with disabilities. Empowering people with disabilities to live life the way they choose, how they choose and when they choose.

Supporting people with disabilities is about helping them to achieve their goals, develop their capabilities and build independence, and fully participate in the community.

**About the Role**
- We support people with disabilities, and people living with a mental illness. EmpowerU Support Teams focussed on co-production, supporting people to make decisions about their life and support.

The support you provide might include:

- Helping the person develop skills - for example, making a budget, taking public transport, using assistive technology, or preparing meals
- Assisting the person to participate in social outings, recreational activities and community events
- Providing companionship, conversation and emotional support.
- Assisting with transport to attend appointments

**Key Responsibilities**
- Follow person-centred support plans and behaviour support plans respectfully
- Participate in community activities and encourage clients to perform daily living tasks
- Track and maintain records of client progress
- Build and maintain positive relationships with our clients and their families
- Provide in-home support and domestic assistance

**About you**
- Patient, flexible and understanding
- Supportive and caring nature
- Commitment to the rights of people with disabilities to live dignified lives
- Able to accept responsibility and are able to work in a team.
- Good communication skills

**Skills & Experience**
- An unrestricted New South Wales driver’s license
- 2 years experince in either mental health or disbaility support.
- Demonstrated ability to use basic technology and software on a mobile and desktop
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Working with children check

**Job Type**: Casual

**Salary**: $33.00 - $47.00 per hour
