The opportunity

:

The distribution service will operate across all 4 hospital health sites according to a specific schedule. Pharmacy Ward Distribution Coordinator will perform activities including, but not limited to:

Imprest distribution Imprest distribution management including stock rotation, and returns Report any anomalies to pharmacy and/or EBOS

This opportunity is a Permanent Full Time position with Symbion Pty Ltd (a division of EBOS Healthcare), based at Alfred Health in Melbourne, Monday – Friday, 5 days per week, variable hours, rostered hours will be within 7:30am - 6pm, some weekends, and public holidays when requested. These positions involve distributing hospital pharmaceutical products to Hospital Services throughout Victoria.

What you will do:

Imprest Supply to Wards

Distribute medications (Imprest) to wards, departments and sub-stores, and liaise with the Hospital pharmacy distribution manager regarding any stock matters Collection of imprest supplies from the store and delivery to wards and departments Quick and efficient delivery of items including those requiring specific storage or cold chain maintenance Unpacking imprest orders and checking of goods against supplier delivery records Replenishment of automated dispensing cabinets (ADCs) i.e., Omnicell (training will be provided) Immediate communication to hospital pharmacy distribution manager officer regarding supply issues Maintain accurate placement of goods received in imprest locations including refrigerated items Rotate stock, monitor expiry dates and stock levels of all imprest stock in ward and pharmacy areas Maintain clean and orderly pharmaceutical storage Ensure appropriate signage e.g., out of stock notices and shelf talkers are in place on imprest Monitor storage condition of pharmaceuticals in wards and escalate any issues to the distribution manager Ensure records are maintained according to local standard operating procedures. Ensure all documentation filing including medicines related records is kept up to date and archived as necessary, following legal requirements for the retention of pharmaceutical and other records.

Required duties

Participate in continuous improvement activities, particularly relating to the Key Performance Indicators of the department Complete all mandatory training and credentialing required for the position Identify gaps in training and/or education and bring to the attention of the Hospital Pharmacy Distribution Manager Attend relevant departmental meetings Perform other duties as delegated by the Hospital Pharmacy Distribution Manager Develop and maintain good working relationships with staff within and outside the department Demonstrate initiative, responsibility, efficiency, co-operation and enthusiasm Demonstrate effective and courteous communication skills Promote pharmacy teamwork by building effective workplace relationships Work closely with the distribution manager to ensure all work is completed in a timely way and in accordance with specific monitoring, instructions, or legal requirements.

Quality, safety, risk and improvement

Comply with the actions set out in the relevant section(s) of EBOS and Alfred Health Hospital Services the OHS Roles and Responsibilities Guideline. Participate in OH&S initiatives (both Symbion and Alfred Health Hospital Service), and take responsible steps to ensure a safe working environment (including relevant emergency response procedures and fire training) Maintain an understanding of individual responsibility for patient safety, quality and risk and contribute to organisational quality and safety initiatives Follow organisational safety, quality and risk policies and guidelines Maintain a safe working environment for yourself, your colleagues and members of the public. Minimise hazards in the working area and report any identifiable hazards to your OH&S or Hospital Pharmacy Distribution manager Escalate concerns regarding safety, quality, and risk to appropriate staff member Promote and participate in the evaluation and continuous improvement processes. Comply with the Health and EBOS's mandatory continuing professional development requirements. Comply with requirement of National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards and other relevant regulatory requirements. Ensure compliance with relevant Hospital Pharmacy clinical and administrative policies and guidelines. Comply with relevant privacy legislation and protect confidential information from unauthorised disclosure and do not use, disclose or copy confidential information except for the purpose of and to the extent necessary to perform your employment duties at the Hospital Pharmacy Service and EBOS. Comply with Health medication management and medication safety policies and guidelines.

Flexibility to work variable hours Attention to detail Full vaccinations as per health service requirements (include Covid vaccination) Able to travel between hospital sites with a current Driver's Licence Excellent time management skills Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills, including the ability to consult with a range of internal and external staff Excellent customer service and communication skills across all levels of seniority within the organisation Ability to follow standard operating procedures and instructions with understanding of all relevant Occupational Health and Safety and Quality standards Clean habits and hygiene practices An ability to fit into a great culture and work well within a team Physically able to lift 15kg numerous times daily Able to walk and stand for longs hours Pharmacy Pick/Pack experience advantageous Hospital pharmacy experience desirable Experience with Automated Dispensing Cabinets desirable (training will be provided) Police Check and Medical will be required for the successful applicant
