As part of our growth, we are looking for an experienced Risk and Compliance Officer to join us.

Reporting to the COO, you will be the primary point of reporting, maintaining and collating risk and compliance across Playgroup NSW and will oversee, administer and maintain Playgroup NSW risk and compliance systems ensuring our framework complies with current legal and regulatory obligations.


About the role

  • Coordinate compliance and risk by partnering with Managers ensuring accountability is maintained
  • Provide advice on compliance and risk management practices throughout the organisation by using your expertise and skills in adopting best practice and meeting regulatory obligations
  • Ensure policies and procedures are developed and/or updated in respect to Playgroup NSW standards and regulations
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of systems and processes
  • Coordinate internal and external audits
  • Provide risk and compliance reporting to the COO
  • Manage any risk and/or compliance systems, procedures, frameworks and reporting and ensure supporting documentation is maintained
  • Maintain, inform and coordinate risk register action items with owners of risk across Playgroup NSW, to align with the risk matrix and framework
  • Play a key role in building a positive riskbased culture across Playgroup NSW

About you
To be considered for this rewarding role you will have:

  • Relevant compliance and risk management qualification or in a related discipline and/or industry experience
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
  • Experience working within compliance, audit, and risk and frameworks
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills
  • Advanced planning and organisational skills and the ability to prioritise and meeting deadlines
  • Ability to build effective working relationships at all levels and manage stakeholders
  • Excellent written, oral and interpersonal skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Experience in writing policies, procedures and reports
  • Develop best practice processes and systems to support risk and compliance
  • Experience managing the operation of Tickit on Demand program or another similar compliance tool
  • Current Working with Children Check (or a willingness to attain one)
  • An understanding of early childhood development, community services or a related field, as well as the political/regulatory arena in which NFP's operates would be highly regarded
  • And most importantly, A positive and proactive attitude
