The Opportunity

The Head of Business Partnering serves as a business partner and coach to the business, working closely with leadership and employees to drive People initiatives that support Noumi's objectives.

This role will be responsible for managing employee relations, ensuring a harmonious workplace environment, and compliance with relevant employment laws and regulations. This role requires a proactive, hands-on approach and the ability to build strong relationships across all levels of the organisation. This role is a leadership role with responsibility to lead a People Partner.

Business Partnering & Coaching Leaders:

  • Act as a trusted advisor to managers and employees on people-related matters, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and policy interpretation.
  • Conduct thorough investigations into employee complaints and grievances, ensuring fair and timely resolution.
  • Foster a positive work environment by promoting open communication and a culture of inclusivity.

Employee Relations

  • Manage relationships with unions and employee representatives, ensuring effective communication and negotiation.
  • Lead the preparation and negotiation of collective bargaining agreements, ensuring compliance with legal and organisational standards.
  • Monitor and address industrial disputes, grievances, and other industrial relations issues.
  • Conduct thorough investigations.

HR Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant employment laws and regulations, including those related to workplace safety, discrimination, and labour standards.
  • Conduct regular audits of HR and Payroll practices and processes to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with award rates, minimum wage laws, overtime pay, and other legal pay requirements.

Change Management:

  • Develop and execute change management plans to ensure smooth transitions and minimise disruption.
  • Develop communication plans to effectively communicate change initiatives.
  • Partner with the Chief People & Culture Officer and Head of OD, Talent and Learning to implement and deliver people initiatives across the business.

What you'll bring

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in an HR generalist or HR business partner role, preferably in the food manufacturing or related industry.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
  • Proven experience in employee relations and industrial relations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organisation.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in HRIS and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with continuous improvement methodologies, such as Lean or Six Sigma.
  • Familiarity with labour relations and union environments.

This position operates in both an office and manufacturing environment. The role will require frequent travel to other company sites including interstate travel and external meetings.
