About the role:
AGA is seeking for Part time Education Support Trainee at a special development school located in Craigieburn.
An Education Support Trainee assists teachers in the classroom and give extra attention and support to students with their learning and development.
As part of your apprenticeship or traineeship with AGA you will be required to complete training with a registered training organisation (RTO).
AGA will arrange all training requirements and work closely with you to ensure you are progressing in line with your training plan.
The role is 30 hours per week with an expectation to attend block training classes throughout the school holiday periods.
The block training is held at our Deer Park facility where classes are conducted to complete units as part of the Certificate III Education Support.
Our organisation is focused on providing support and mentoring to the successful trainee as well as providing on the job training for 12 Months.

The key responsibilities for this role include:
- Providing support for teachers
- assisting with planning of student routines
- Communicating with student/s to support comprehension of basic tasks and information
- Provide basic support and supervision for individuals or small groups within a classroom setting
- Personal care such as toileting may be needed
The role will support students between the ages of 5 and 18 with mild, moderate and profound intellectual disabilities associated with physical, social, emotional, behavioral, sensory and multiple disabilities.
Requirements:
- Must be an Australian citizen/and or Permanent Resident
- Eligibility criteria applies to prior qualifications
- Commit to Part Time 12 Month traineeship
- Drivers licence and own car is preferred.
- Working With Children check is required for this role
- Attend accredited RTO/TAFE training (Paid for by AGA)
- Up to date with Covid19 vaccinations
- Good communications skills
- Patience in dealing with students
- Able to work and follow directions well from teachers
