The Financial Analysis and Partnerships team is a network of Finance Business partners across the enterprise. The team delivers divisional reporting, forecasting, budgeting and financial advice to stakeholders.

The strives for continuous improvement in process and systems to ensure the delivery of timely business partnering services to key stakeholders.


About the role


The role is primarily responsible for providing expert advice and guidance on the financial management of assigned Directorates or Divisions.

The scope of work is defined by the operational priorities of the assigned business unit and the financial reporting and analysis required to enable effective decision making, the role is responsible for leading a team/ projects or programs to deliver accurate, reliable and focused results that meet stakeholder expectations and the Directorate's service delivery standards.

The role supports senior managers in the implementation of innovative solutions to achieve continuous improvements in corporate financial programs, processes and service delivery.


Essential requirements of the role

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Accounting or in a related discipline and eligibility for membership to recognized professional accounting body and/or equivalent relevant workplace experience.

Key knowledge and experience

  • Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department's Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department's Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.

About you

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders and present complex information in a clear, understandable manner.
  • Comprehensive experience in process and system improvement
  • Demonstrated very strong organisation skills and experience working in a demanding professional environment with the capability to manage completing priorities and achieve results
  • Strong excel skills and experience with Power BI
