Our client is an Australian luxury fashion house that has experienced unprecedented growth on a global scale.

This role is a creative and technical position in the design team working closely with the Senior Design Directors on all clothing categories across Ready to Wear for seasonal store launches.

The position works collaboratively with the designers to develop the brands clothing according to seasonal company range plans and is responsible for the creation of accurate patterns in line with the designer's vision and according to seasonal design and production schedules.


Responsibilities:

  • Making patterns for seasonal collections on the Lectra, Gerber or Style CAD system via original drawings or from existing library of patterns as directed by the Creative Director and senior design team.
  • Participation in fittings and maintaining notes on all alterations with support from the Junior Garment Tech.
  • Perform pattern alterations promptly and accurately after fitting.
  • Regularly update têxtile, print and surface design team with any changes to pattern for styles that have placement artwork, nested blocks or specific cutting instructions.
  • Ensure final constructions are suitable for mass production.
  • Prepare sample and specification packs to produce PPS and Bulk
To set you up for success in this role we are looking for the following skills and experience|

  • 10 years' industry experience in pattern making
  • Strong eye for detail and accuracy
  • Extensive understanding and knowledge of garment construction
  • Advanced skillset in Lectra, Gerber or Style CAD pattern making, or similar system
  • Computer literacy in Excel and Outlook and a knowledge of fashion production software such as AP21
