The Role:

An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic Grade 2 Occupational Therapist to join the Home Care Packages team at Northern Health. This program provides care and services to older people with complex care needs who live in the Northern Health catchment, and are deemed eligible for these services. Through individualised care and services, the packages support older people to remain in their homes as long as possible.

The OT department at Northern Health prides itself on being inclusive, supportive and committed to evidence-based practice. We are a team of OT's who are driven by positive patient outcomes and team work. We employ over 100 staff just within the OT department and enjoy seeing our team take on opportunities to support their growth and development.

The Occupational Therapist in this role will be accountable for providing quality client centred care through the application of competent clinical skills in assessment, risk minimisation and implementation of treatment and management plans. The OT will work collaboratively with case managers and other members in the team to provide OT assessments and interventions that may include but are not limited to equipment provision, home modifications and funding applications.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Experience and good working knowledge of an aged care caseload including assessment and intervention skills.
  • Proven ability to work well and excel within a multidisciplinary team
  • An attitude toward life-long learning
  • A keen interest in the supervision of students to support their growth and development
