Introduction:


BCR Communities (formerly Bay & Basin Community Resources) provides support to people with disability through our Work, Life & Training program in Sanctuary Point.

We are a highly-regarded not for profit organisation which has been serving our local communities for over 30 years.


We are currently seeking a part time (minimum 48 hrs per fortnight) Work, Life & Training Program Coordinator to grow and further develop our Work, Life & Training program which includes vocational, work readiness and life skills support and training.


Our Work, Life & Training (WLT) program provides individualised supports to people with disability so they can build skills and confidence, develop new friendships and social connections, and where work is the goal - transition to supported or open employment.


Reporting to the CEO, the WLT Program Coordinator will embed frameworks & systems and maintain connections with relevant stakeholders to grow and operate the WLT program.

This includes engaging with schools, providing information and support to participants and their families, managing partnerships with community colleges and TAFE, connecting with Supported Wage Assessors and NDIS stakeholders including Support Coordinators and Disability Employment Services to build the number of participants and the range of activities and social enterprises that form part of the WLT program.


We are looking for someone who is passionate about creating opportunities for people with disability, understands the importance of partnering with community stakeholders and has extensive experience working in the disability sector.


This role has the following responsibilities:

  • Manage the WLT program and partner or collaborate with key stakeholders to meet participant outcomes
  • Work collaboratively with the BCR Activities Hub Coordinator to develop WLT training programs, supports, work experience opportunities and social activities.
  • Initiate BCR Social Enterprises and test the model to inform guidelines & procedures
  • Coordinate and deliver services on site, and expand and grow the WLT program
  • Increase the skills and abilities of participants according to the goals identified in participants individual plans and within the NDIS practice standards and funding guidelines
  • Identify suitable participants for development and transition into BCR volunteering and employment opportunities
  • Scheduling and rostering of participants and staff to WLT group activities including employability skills training, work experience, life skills training and social activities.

Role Requirements

  • Extensive experience in the Disability Sector including coordination and service delivery (minimum 5 years)
  • Understanding of, or experience in disability training & employment supports including supported employment and supported wage tools and assessments
  • Minimum qualifications: Cert III in Disability (Individual Supports) or related/relevant qualification
  • Demonstrated understanding of NDIS Practice Standards and Quality & Safety reporting requirements
  • Demonstrated understanding of social enterprise models
  • Working with Children Check and NDIS worker screening
  • NDIS Worker Orientation module
  • Current First Aid Certificate + CPR (or willing to obtain)
  • Drivers Licence, with safe driving record
  • Fully vaccinated against COVID19, including booster
