What you will be doing:


An exciting opportunity has become available for a qualified Workforce Projects Policy and Planning Officer to join the Workforce, People and Culture team based at Station Street Penrith.

This is a Temporary Full Time Position until 28 May 2024.


The position is responsible for coordinating the strategic planning, development and review of workforce frameworks, policies and processes, focusing on implementation strategies that support the business objectives and key workforce challenges.

The role is responsible for contributing to multiple complex and sensitive workforce projects simultaneously with competing deadlines.


This position will also assist in the delivery of the workforce projects and planning functions, providing support and advice to the organisation, business units and employees on workforce planning and organisational design.

Selection Criteria to be Addressed:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in human resources and/or equivalent practical experience together with extensive experience in a large diverse multidisciplinary organisation.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of policies and legislative/regulative requirements pertaining to employment and workforce related matters, with the ability to accurately identify significant employee relations and human resource issues and clearly communicate their business implications.
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in the development of workforce policies, procedures, strategies and initiatives including implementation and monitoring.
  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of workforce planning, including workforce planning methodologies and workforce strategies.
  • Highly developed verbal and written communication skills, negotiation skills with the ability to build, lead and actively maintain positive relationships with key personnel both internal and external to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Welldeveloped organisational skills, with the capacity to manage multiple projects, prioritise, multitask and achieve business objectives in a high volume and demanding professional environment.
  • Ability to work independently with limited direction as to work priorities with demonstrated experience managing and meeting deadlines whilst maintaining meticulous attention to detail and meet predetermined targets and deadlines.
  • High level analytical and problem solving skills that facilitates the development, implementation and continual monitoring of workforce projects.
