Join a world-class organisation and make a difference to the environment Thrive in a supportive, collaborative and creative environment Remunerations starting from $142,529 to $156,425 plus superannuation Role based in Parramatta The Opportunity Are you passionate about making an impact, using science and knowledge to drive change?If so, we have an exciting ongoing opportunity available for a Unit Head to join the EPA, and lead and manage a new Unit in the development and implementation of Citizen and Community Science initiatives, Science Partnerships and Science Services.

This new team will work across the EPA to enable and guide us to deliver quality and impactful science and advice, enhance internal and external partnerships, and build engagement and trust in EPA Science.

About You You will be an outcomes-focused passionate advocate for the EPA, with strong strategic thinking and leadership skills and a genuine passion for delivering best practice.

The ideal candidate will need to demonstrate: Proven leadership skills, with an ability to work in a diverse environment and balance competing priorities.

Strong communication and engagement skills to build the EPA's access to science, innovation and external science partnerships.

Experience in coordinating or managing partnerships to ensure that they are aligned with the EPAs strategic direction and research priorities.

Experience in environmental appraisal processes and procedures and in the development, application or interpretation of environmental performance guidelines and standards.

Knowledge and understanding of government policies and procedures.

About the Team This Unit will sit within the Technical (Chemicals, Land and Radiation) Branch of the Regulatory Practice and Services Division of the EPA.

The team is a dedicated team of technical experts who work to protect the environment and people from harm by providing evidence-based advice on the regulation of chemicals, pesticides, contaminated land, radiation, resource recovery and radiation.
