What you'll be doing


The position has a clinical focus and delivers high-quality assessment, care planning and evidenced-based interventions to young people and their families to promote recovery.

The Youth Mental Health Clinician will work within an early intervention model that promotes collaborative partnerships with other community partners and service providers.


All NSW Health workers are required to have completed an up-to-date course of a COVID-19 vaccine (3 doses for Category A roles, 2 doses for Category B roles) which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA).

New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW.

Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Please provide proof of vaccination if available.

Successful applicants to the role must provide certified documentation of vaccination history and pathology as part of their recruitment documentation.

Selection Criteria

  • Qualification in Nursing, Social Work, Psychology or Occupational Therapy and registration with relevant professional body or eligibility for registration.
  • Experience working within an Adult Mental Health or Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service.
  • Advanced individual and family intervention skills in mental health assessment and treatment including psychotic, mood and personality disorders.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and sensitivity to the mental health needs of young people years) and their families.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Early Intervention philosophy, principles and practice.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Current unrestricted Class C driver's licence.
