The Social Worker
  • Service Coordination supports individuals and families in the Jewish Community who may be experiencing multiple or complex needs including family violence, mental health, child wellbeing and safety and homelessness. The role is positioned within the Bayside Peninsula Family Services (Integrated Family Services) and has a focus on promoting the healthy functioning of children, young people and families through a range of educational, developmental, social and support services. The team assists and supports parents to develop, maintain and strengthen the safety, stability, development and wellbeing of their children and family through a culturally sensitive lens.
  • As a Social Worker at Jewish Care, you will contribute to:
  • An integrated and collaborative child-centred, family-focused service system response
  • Strengthening families and enhancing the wellbeing of children, young people and their parents/carers
  • Supporting individuals with multiple or complex needs to identify and achieve positive outcomes
  • Promoting client safety, stability and selfdetermination

About you

  • To be successful in this role, you will have:
  • Tertiary qualification in Social Work
  • Minimum 3 years' experience working in community services
  • Demonstrated skills in casework/case management with families or individuals who may have complex needs
  • Demonstrated knowledge of relevant DFFH policy and practice frameworks and legislation including Information Sharing Schemes
  • Effective interpersonal, time management, communication and negotiation skills, including liaising with other key people known to the individual or family (such as schools, psychological or health professionals)
  • You will need to provide evidence of *full Covid19 vaccination, or medical exemption (*full means 3 vaccinations in line with ATAGI guidelines)
