As a Senior Software Engineer (SRE), you'll have hands-on experience working in an agile environment. Here, you'll get to turn your passion into reality, working with new as well as modernising traditional technology stacks. This will enable a seamless and unrivalled customer experience ensuring availability through observability.

You'll also troubleshoot complex issues and play a mentoring role in providing technical assistance to other engineers in the team. You'll build high quality, reliable solutions.

You're a big thinker, problem solver and challenge seeker. You enjoy the satisfaction of writing elegant and efficient code using leading engineering practices.

And what you do has impact – you'll interface to the Central Site Reliability Team, enabling applications used by our Institutional Banking customers and Global Markets.

Institutional Banking and Markets (IB&M) Technology drives the technology which supports CBA clients in Australia and globally to create new business opportunities, from banking and trading to environmental strategies.

We're working to modernise our delivery landscape, enabling our engineers to provide seamless reliable solutions for our customers, and we want your help.

Here, you can build and automate applications that empower teams to observe and streamline their workflows and optimise the platforms used to power the Institutional Banking and Markets division.

You'll have the opportunity to take responsibility for designing observability to ensure our systems are simpler, faster, and more secure.

Perform complex problem resolution, root cause analysis and identification of improvement opportunitiesMaintain and monitor AWS Cloud infrastructureParticipate in key initiatives from the Technology team to improve capability, standards, and risk profile of the platformExperience in design and build of solutions for monitoring and service assuranceExtensive experience in developing public Web Applications and APIsExcellent debugging skills; able to debug complex technical issues involving multiple system componentsYou are passionate about keeping up to date with the latest technologyExcellent communication with non-technical stakeholdersPassion for continually improving the people and processes within your teamExpert knowledge of micro services architecture and RESTful APIs

Tech Skills:

We use a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. We don't expect you to know them all but experience or exposure with some of these (or equivalents) will set you up for success in this team.

Experience one or more of Java, GoLang, C#, Python, , SQL, and ReactYou are a full stack developer, technical specialist or a software engineer who enjoys the challenge and satisfaction of writing elegant and efficient codeFamiliarity with project management tools such as Jira, Confluence and ServiceNowContainer technology, Docker and Kubernetes/EKSSource control and CI/CD tooling such as GitHub, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Argo CD TeamCity and ArtifactoryMonitoring tools such as Prometheus, Graphana and SplunkExperience with modern software engineering practices such as Trunk development, Unit Testing, and Test Driven Development (TDD)
